top three artist podcasts

My top three art podcast: a studio must have

Podcasts are another one of my must haves while working in the studio. Today, I thought I would share with you my top three art podcast.

A few weeks ago, I shared with you how I make my "Perfect" cup of coffee.  Coffee is just as important to have in my studio as my art supplies.  Too extreme...not if you are as much of a coffee lover as me.  Wait! What?  You missed that post...no worries, you can still read How to make the perfect cup of coffee.

When I made the leap to full-time painter, I began looking up podcasts...marketing, social media, artist tips, etc... I found that painting in the studio was the perfect opportunity to listen and learn, and man did I need all the help I could get with the business side of things. With that said, I have rounded up my top three favorites.

1.  Artists Helping Artists

This podcast by Leslie Saeta and her co-host Margaret Sheldon is my number one favorite.  I like how they touch on every aspect of art business.  You will learn about marketing, growing your business through social media, studio tips, and so much more.  I also love the casual laid back vibe of this podcast...it's like I'm right there sipping coffee with these wonderful ladies.

2.  Simple Pin

Ok, so this isn't an art podcast, but it is a helpful podcast for artists because most of us put our art on Pinterest.  Pinterest is another one of those social networks that is ever changing, and can be overwhelming when trying to grow your business.  Kate Ahl does a great job breaking down all that you need to know in order to make Pinterest a productive marketing tool for your business.

3.  The Inspiration Place

This is a newer podcast for me.  I've only been listening for a couple of months, but it has already made it to my top three.  Like the hosts Leslie and Margaret of Artists Helping Artists, Miriam Schulman is also a very talented artist bringing her experience along with her guest hosts to other artists such as myself.  The fact that she has made it to my top favorites, reflects how much valuable information she brings to the table (or should I say studio).  My favorite and first podcast episode I listened to was with Kimberly Houston as her guest host sharing about copywriting and how important it is to have the right copy on the pages of your website.  I so needed that episode because SEO (nuff said).

All three of these podcast are so helpful to artists, small shops, and businesses in general who are looking for an online presence.  If you are an artist looking for something educational to listen to while working in your studio, or If you are a business looking to learn more about marketing on social media: Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook...I don't think you would be disappointed with the content of these podcast.

If you give these podcast a try, let me know in the comments what you think, or If you have a favorite podcast other than these three, tell me about it in the comments as I'm always looking for more to add to my must haves.
