A New Beginning Fashion Presentation and Gala.

Aloysius A New Beginning, an eco fashion presentation and benefit gala, will take place at the Sandler Center for Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, VA on Friday, January 18, 2019.
For those of you who may be new here or may have missed previous post about my connection with The Butterfly House, I will share my story briefly.
When my collection idea "Children of the King" was birthed into my heart, I knew that I wanted this collection to have meaning and evoke positive change, but was uncertain how this would come about. What I did know was I wanted this collection to benefit children. I was introduced to Char, the founder of The Butterfly House. After listening to her story and seeing passion for helping victims of human trafficking (especially minor aged children), there was no doubt in my mind this was the purpose of my collection.

Char has been working endlessly to build Hampton Roads' first long term safe home where victims can find refuge as they heal. She hopes to provide these children with programs such as art therapy, pet therapy, counseling, and more. She also has a desire to educate others about the dangers of trafficking and how to take precautions to protect one's self and others.
A New Beginning Eco Fashion Presentation and Benefit Gala organized by ENJEWEL (Equality and Justice for Every Woman Every Land) features fashion designer Joesph Aloysius as well as performances by Tricia Canilao, Laurence Mossman, JM Quiblat, and Nicole Asensio. All money raised will benefit The Butterfly House and VBJI (Virginia Beach Justice Initative) both fighting the war against human trafficking.
Trafficking is a growing problem all over the world, and the fight starts in our own back yards.
Char contacted me and expressed how much she would love for me to bring my collection to this event. I will have originals available for sale as well as some fine art prints. A portion of all sales will go towards the building of The Butterfly House. I'm a mother of three girls, and I understand how they love to dream of palaces and prince charming. How perfect are these little twirly princesses for a little girl's room?!
Twirly Dresses from the Children of the King collection
Children of the King depicts the innocent joys of childhood that all children should have the privilege to experience. Child trafficking is unimaginably horrific that many don't want to think about it. Unfortunately, it's real, and awareness is important. I didn't want my collection to be depressing and dark so I chose to highlight the beauty of childhood. You will see that each child in my paintings wears a crown on their heads symbolizing their worth as a Child of the King!
