Shop for a Cause - Meet the Shops
Share
We have been busy putting together this “Shop for a Cause” event to help raise monies to fight this horrific crime against children, men, and women, and we are so excited for its launch. Whether you are looking for a gift for a friend or a special treat for yourself, we have something for everyone.
As promised, I am following up my previous post to introduce the participating small shops along with some of the available items you can expect to see.
But before I start the introductions, let me summarize the previous post just in case you missed it.
Starting this Thursday, July 30th (World Day Against Trafficking) thru Sunday August 2nd, four small shops are coming together to raise funds for a local to Virginia non-profit The Butterfly House. This organization, founded by a sweet lady in her 70’s who has devoted her life to helping children, is the first long term faith-based home for minor aged girls who are victims of trafficking. The Butterfly House’s mission is to Rescue, House, Educate, and point these children to the great healer who can beautifully restore them in ways we can never imagine.
Why are safe houses important?
Without a safe home, rescued girls are put into jail or juvenile homes where they are treated as criminals. This only worsens their trauma and makes the path towards healing and restoration even more narrow. These precious children should not be punished for something they had no say in. The pimps are the ones at fault and justice should be directed towards them.
Now that we are all up to speed, Let's meet the small shops that are making this event possible.
MACKENA + CREW CHARI-TEES
This small shop is founded and operated by a mama who wants her shop to be more than a place to buy beautiful clothes. With each new clothing collection, she will assign a charity close to her heart to receive a portion of the proceeds. How awesome is that! Every time you support her small biz you are also taking part in making a difference in our world. Now, that’s something I can get behind…How about you?
MACKENA + CREW has designed and dedicated a beautiful butterfly tee just for this occasion, and a portion of sales will benefit The Butterfly House. This tee will be available in Adult and Children sizes.
MORGAN CASTEEL STUDIO & FINE ART
Morgan is a talented artist who creates each work of art with meaning and intention with the purpose to radiate positivity and love. She is also a mama with a heart of gold and is always looking for ways to reach out to others. Whether Morgan is painting landscapes, florals, figures, or plants, you will find that her paintings are much more than something pretty to look at for example her As A Woman series. This ongoing series celebrates all stages of womanhood and all the beauty each stage holds. So, when you purchase a painting from Morgan, you also get a piece of her heart.
Morgan Casteel Studio & Fine Art will be donating a 100% of proceeds from print sales of her beautiful mixed media floral painting.
FOX & OYSTER CO.
I first met Aimee (owner of Fox & Oyster) several years ago when she and my daughter roomed together in college. She has a special eye for style and design so it is no surprise she opened her own boutique. FOX & OYSTER has trendy and timeless clothing as well as accessories for all occasions that you must have in your closet (I mean, my closet is begging for them, haha).
Aimee is donating 30% of proceeds from all sales store wide to Butterfly House.
BEVERLY GURGANUS FINE ART
No need to introduce myself because you and I are friends, but just in case you are new to my art family, here is a brief intro. I am an artist specializing in oil paint and growing my watercolor skills. I like to paint what I call “Happy Paintings” that are inspired by the beauty found in the everyday life.
I have selected four prints from my Children of the King collection which was inspired by and created for The Butterfly House a couple of years ago. 15% of proceeds from each print will be donated to The Butterfly House, except for one. 100% of proceeds will be donated from that one special print.
I am touched by each one of these small shops for their desire to join me in this great cause, and to do their part to take a stand against child trafficking. Each person, each voice, each donation is a step towards change. Will you join us Thursday, July 30th – Sunday, August 2nd and shop for a cause?
