Watercolor Floral Cards To Brighten the Day
Share
I've been surrounded by flowers all week and it has been so beautiful. It's this time every year when I begin my annual "morning garden walks". With coffee in hand, I visit the raised vegetable gardens first, and then make my way along the pavement surrounding the pool towards my favorite flower garden in the back corner of our lot where it is ever changing. I love that magical feeling of discovering that another flower has emerged from the soil and is showing off its beauty. It is so special and so inspiring.
These walks have provided opportunities for me to ponder about life in a pandemic, and pray about how I can be a positive light for others. So, I have taken the inspiration from my morning walks and painted some mini floral paintings to send to random friends and family in hopes to virtually wrap my arms around them so they know they are loved and thought of often during this uncertain season.
Over the past month I have been sharing art lessons to help provide ideas for all of you who are homeschooling your children, and this week's idea was inspired by my mini florals. I thought it would be fun to encourage our children to do acts of kindness by sending some love to their own family/friends. So. I have designed a downloadable template of four post cards that can be printed, cut out, and colored. (click the image below to download your template).
With all this social distancing and staying home, our emotions are all over the place, and a friendly note could be just what someone needs to brighten their day. Send one to your Doctor or nurse, leave one for your mail carrier, pass one to the server when picking up your meal curbside, or send to grandparents who are craving the time they can snuggle the grand babies...send them to anyone or everyone. Let's send out virtual hugs!
If you download this template to send hugs to friends and family, it would make me so happy and excited to hear about it, and if you share a photo of the cards you colored, it would make it all the more special. You can send me a photo through my contact page.
I look forward to hearing from you!
